My first iBook made with iBooks Author

Update July 2013: All of my iBooks made this year can be found here

In the run up to the start of the new school year I’ve been experimenting with iBooks Author. We don’t use books in the year that I teach so a lot of the materials we use are our own or stuff we’ve found elsewhere. I’ve tried to bundle the first couple of weeks material in an iBook.

You can download it from the iBookstore now

Please let me know how I can improve it in the comments. I’m especially interested to hear how I can let the video and audio continue to play after I’ve swiped to the next page. The audio is supposed to run along with the text, but the text is longer than one page.

The widgets that I’ve used in the iBook

– Video + Audio

– Image gallery

– Image multiple choice review

– Keynote presentation

– Live Twitter feed from www.classwidgets.com

– Whiteboard from www.ibook-widgets.com

– Interactive diagram made with Hype

The diagram made with Hype I think is especially cool. You can check it out below. I can’t wait to find more uses of using Hype to make HTML5 interactive widgets.

You can check it out full screen below.
